Project: Ninja Tune

Independent record label Ninja Tune is the brainchild of Matt Black and Jonathan More aka Coldcut, and was founded in 1990. It is home to the likes of The Cinematic Orchestra, Bonobo, Young Fathers, Roots Manuva, The Bug, Amon Tobin, Bicep, Jordan Rakei, Peggy Gou, Helena Hauff, as well as housing sister labels Big Dada, Counter Records and Technicolour. I oversaw Social Media Strategy, Paid Social and Email Marketing most prominently throughout my five years at the label.

Key Achievements
  • Content & Social Strategy across Ninja Tune, Big Dada and Counter Records social channels, with Ninja Tune notably tipped as #2 ‘record labels to follow on Instagram‘ in The Vinyl Factory.
  • End-to-end Paid Social for digital & physical releases: budgeting, briefing Ad creative, re-targeting & reporting.
  • Email Marketing campaigns incl. copywriting, customer data segmentation, A/B testing, design and build.
  • Lead for fan activations and incentives (competitions).
  • Liaison for the label’s social partners (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap) and new platform opportunities & features.
  • Artist Marketing lead – digital marketing ideation across campaigns and educated artist roster on best practices.
  • Involved in wider marketing projects: interactive web build projects, label event promotion, charity initiatives.
  • Contributed to the label’s activism output including creative partnerships with political illustrators.
