Project: The xx’s Night + Day

Night + Day is a festival by The xx celebrating their favourite places around the world through collaborations with local artists and communities. In 2018, Night + Day took place in Bilbao between 6-11 July and included a centre-piece show curated by Jamie xx at the world-renowned Guggenheim Museum, plus cinema programming, radio, and much more. I oversaw the Social Media strategy for The xx and Night + Day social channels pre, during and post-festival.

Key Achievements
  • Social Media Marketing lead for The xx’s Night + Day festival in Bilbao, Spain (6-11 July 2018).
  • Helped grow Night + Day’s Instagram page threefold in three months.
  • Oversaw email marketing campaign design & build.
  • Curated a dynamic Instagram feed to promote the event in collaboration with the festival’s Design Agency.
  • Created a series of unique animated visuals to supplement static artwork and boost overall reach and visibility across the festival’s wide-ranging programme of Music, Cinema, Radio & more, including:
    • Personalised animations for each of the artists playing at Museo Guggenheim Bilbao
    • Unique trailers for each of the film screenings in collaboration with Zinegoak Festival
    • Bespoke animations to promote Night + Day Radio, Spotify playlists & ticket giveaways
  • Launched a competition to give away tickets to the Museo Guggeneheim Bilbao and The xx’s intimate show.
  • Set up Night + Day Bilbao Spotify playlist, which accrued 5,000 new followers.
  • Designed Snapchat geo-filters to be unlocked at key Night + Day locations in Bilbao.
  • Designed and launched Night + Day Bilbao Giphy sticker available on Instagram Stories, accruing 500k impressions.
  • Launched Night + Day Bilbao Facebook Group to build community of 600 fans of The xx in the local area.
  • Liaised with festival promoters on Paid Social campaign activation around Organic Social posts & announcements.
